Submitting a communication
The proposed procedure covers complaints about the editorial process and requests to reconsider a decision. Communications should identify the work or submission, explain the reasons and provide relevant information.
Reviewing the concern
The proposal is to document receipt, assess the arguments and ensure that the review is not handled solely by the person involved in the disputed decision. The outcome should be communicated with reasons.
An appeal does not imply acceptance of the manuscript or guarantee a new external review.
Awaiting approval: the submission channel, responsibilities, timelines and scope of review.
